Actually, I can understand that, because even after so many decades of this old story being rehashed, it is still an irresistible premise. However, Joe Dietsch and Lucian Gibson‘s latest Happy Hunting has plenty original in it to keep … Martin Dingle Wall stars as drug-dealing drunk Warren, who’s making one last effort at redemption by swindling his fellow criminals, getting clean, and moving to Mexico to find his long-lost daughter.
That. This is much more a character study than a slasher movie, even as there are plenty of gruesome moments.

Yet another movie that kinda had a good plot idea (though admittedly its been done much better 100 times before) but then the writers either ran out of ideas, money, and/or ingenuity and the ending just leaves us unsatisfied with some thinly veiled "political leftist anti-American commentary" that quite frankly is more offensive than anything any right-wing nut could ever devise.

That. It reminded me of ‘The Most Dangerous Game’ on steroids. However, that only gets worse as he heads for the border and stops at a humble small town called Bedford Flats.
The simple lesson that happy is always available should be lesson #1 in every school (unfortunately memorization takes priority). This Most Dangerous Game knock off takes the premise of hunting humans and puts a redneck, Mexican border setting to it and lets loose with a serious amount of blood and guts. |

I have to say, if you use Netflix, you should watch it, if it's on there. While there are some plot drags and some dodgy CGI effects, the negatives do not drag down the overall end product.

A pretty OK survival thriller (not a horror) about a junkie / alcoholic who drives from town to town, desperately trying to find money (and also hoping to visit his daughter in Mexico?). Also serving as executive producers, film editors and principal cinematography, these two were very busy throughout the production. It's the full package.
